The Attunity Blog
Hadoop is on everyone’s mind in Big Data. This free, open source software allows companies of all sizes to perform analyses that they could not afford to previously. Hadoop Data Lakes are low-cost, reliable, scalable and agile – all key ingredients when determining how you’d like to store and access your data.
Apache™ Kafka is a fast, scalable, durable, and fault-tolerant publish-subscribe messaging system. It offers higher throughput, reliability and replication. To manage growing data volumes, many companies are leveraging Kafka for streaming data ingest and processing. Learn more.
Attunity CloudBeam automates data loading from heterogeneous sources into the Azure SQL Data Warehouse quickly and easily. It’s available in the Azure Marketplace, and offers Azure customers several SaaS licensing options. Check out our latest announcement!
At the end of June, Attunity was at the Hadoop Summit in San Jose, CA along with our partners, Hortonworks, MapR, Cloudera, Microsoft, Google, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Teradata, and others. In all, the three-day event brought together over 75 vendors and over 5,000 attendees.
Analytics are the name of the game. They’re integral to company strategies today, which are becoming more numbers driven by the minute. Everyone wants to understand how get value from all of the data they are collecting. The only way to figure this out is by drilling down into the numbers.
We data folks live in exciting times. As we saw at the Strata + Hadoop show in San Jose, open source developers continue to deliver new ways to analyze high volumes of fast-moving data. One of the hottest, Apache Kafka, can feed data from thousands of applications to emerging platforms like HBase and Cassandra.
IDC predicts that by 2020 the amount of data the data we create and copy annually – will reach 44 zettabytes, or 44 trillion gigabytes. Like the physical universe, data is diverse – created by everyone typing an e-mail, using a digital camera, sharing tweets and posts on social media sites, and by the millions of “things” sending and receiving data over the Internet.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Apache Hadoop; we celebrated with the best minds in Big Data at Strata + Hadoop Wold 2016 in London last week. Here are our top takeaways from Strata, based on the great conversations we had with lots of attendees at the show.
This week, Attunity announced a collaboration with Microsoft to enable faster and easier adoption of SQL Server 2016, the latest version of Microsoft’s market-leading database and data warehousing platform running on-premises or on Microsoft Azure.
Everyone involved with Big Data knows there is a ton of effort that goes into designing, deploying and operating a data warehouse. Without the right tools, it’s nearly impossible for your organization to accomplish this in an easy, cost-effective way. Significant effort is put in by both your employees and your systems in the forms of labor hours and processing power.
